The valley of Pitztal offers a wide range of activities in sports and culture. The following is just an excerpt, sticking to the 'classic' winter-activities, one will expect to do in winter in Tyrol.
The valley of Pitztal offers a range of different slopes for cross-country skiers. There are also two high-slopes, one at Pitztaler Gletscher and one at Rifflsee, both to be reached by cable-car and almost snow-safe.
The very long 'Talloipe' (valley-slope) with more than 21km of slopes offers the possibility to explore the great nature of more than three quarters of Pitztal just with your cross-country skis. There are numerous possibilties to start, so you do not need to go the complete run at once! ;)
In Pitztal there are several toboggan/sledging runs, some of them are illuminated by night.

In winter the valley of Pitztal offers lots of nice hidden places, only to be reached by snow-shoes. You could also enjoy to explore the Natural Park Kaunergrat with snow-shoes whether you are a beginner or a professional, or anything in between. If you wish you could also get a professional guide offered by several agencies in the valley.
The Kaunergrat Mountain Range is the Nature Park’s backbone and gave it its name. Situated above the deeply incised Pitztal Valley and Kaunertal Valley it is home to unspoilt nature and an intact cultural landscape that has been shaped by the hard work of the region’s farmers over the centuries. The Nature Park was founded by nine municipalities from Pitztal Valley, Kaunertal Valley and Inntal Valley in 1998.
